• Composition
Convenor: Usually a senior faculty member.
Joint Convenor: Usually a faculty member
Members: A few faculty members from different departments.
Administrative Staff: Representatives (when it is necessary) from the college administration.
Student Representatives: Students may be included to ensure fairness and representation.
• Responsibilities
Review Complaints: Examine complaints or reports of misconduct submitted by students, faculty, or staff.
Conduct Hearings: Organize hearings where the involved parties can present their sides.
Investigations: Conduct investigations into incidents to gather facts and evidence.
Decide on Penalties: Decide on appropriate disciplinary actions or penalties for those found guilty of misconduct.
Policy Recommendations: Make recommendations to improve or update disciplinary policies.
• Procedures
Submission of Complaint: A formal complaint is submitted to the committee.
Preliminary Review: The committee conducts an initial review to determine if there is sufficient evidence to proceed.
Notification: Inform the accused person about the complaint and the upcoming process.
