After successful completion of the three-year B.Sc. (Honours) degree program in Statistics, students should be able to achieve the following objectives/ outcomes:

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO):

  • Develop a strong foundation of Descriptive Statistics, Probability and Probability Distribution.
  • Conceptualise the method of Estimation and Testing, the Sampling Distribution and the method of Numerical Analysis.
  • Understand the principles and applications of Sampling Technique, ANOVA and Design of Experiments, Index Number, Time Series Analysis, Statistical Quality Control (SQC).
  • Undertake an interdisciplinary approach to understand the application of Statistics in different field. Be competent to acquire, analyse and interpret the data to arrive at unbiased conclusions using Progamming Language like C++ and Minitab & MS-Excel.

Course Outcomes (CO):

CO1: Develop ideas on Probability and Probability Distribution.

CO2: Understand and solve problems of Descriptive Statistics.

CO3: Analyse and solve practical  problemson descriptive statistics and probability distributions.

CO4: Probability Inequalities, Multivariate Distributions, Numerical Analysis and Real Analysis.

CO5: Sampling Distributions, Methods of Estimation and Testing.

CO6: Practical problems on Numerical Analysis and Estimation & Testing.

CO7: Have a thorough understanding of the applied Statistics.

CO8: ANOVA & Design of Experiments, Sampling Technique.

CO9: Sequential Analysis and Non-parametric inference, SQC.

CO10: Practical problems on Economic Statistics, Demography, SQC, ANOVA, Design, Sample Survey and Non-Parametric.

CO11: Computer Application : C-Programming, MS-Excel, MINITAB
