Vision and Mission
Welcome to the Department of Botany at the Kalyani Mahavidyalaya, Kalyani. The Department was established in the year 2003.It started with a limited number of students as a small centre for Graduate (General) studies and then in the year 2010 Honours course was approved.
Our vision is to develop the Department as a leading center of Plant Sciences in the country through the process of self-evaluation and continual renewal in all our endeavours, namely learning, teaching, and other related services”. The department of Botany Strives to contribute to the quality enhancement of young energetic students of Botany through dissemination of knowledge and thorough Discussions about the subject. Through teaching of Botany (Both Honours and General) our endeavour is to develop research interest on biological science (specifically plant science) among the students and doing so tried to keep pace with their future.
Our mission is to provide a student-centered and professions-oriented education that bestows ambient academic environment to demonstrate and promote creative, intellectual inquiry with positive relationships among students, faculty and staff. We know that we exist for our students and do everything in our capacity to secure excellent standards of teaching and learning process by providing latest knowledge that enhance the learning experience a fruitful and outstanding one for future application in tomorrow’s challenging world.
